What information we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you complete a form on this website, submit a Facebook or Instagram lead form, email us, or call us. This typically includes your name, email address, telephone number, company or trading name, the address or postcode of the property concerned, and whatever you tell us about your enquiry.
When we carry out work for you we also hold records relating to that work, including site notes, photographs of the premises, assessment reports, certificates and invoicing details.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation, which is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out the work you instruct us to do, and to issue reports, certificates and invoices, under performance of a contract.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including retaining fire safety records.
- To send service reminders when your assessment or servicing falls due, under legitimate interests or your consent where the law requires it. You can opt out at any time.
Facebook and Instagram
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms. If you submit an enquiry through a Meta lead form, Meta passes your details to us and we use them to contact you about your enquiry.
Website forms and cookies
Enquiries sent through our website form are delivered to us by email through a form-processing service, which handles the data on our behalf. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with our website host, form-processing and email providers, our accountant, and any subcontractor engaged on your job. We will also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for one year and then deleted. Records relating to work carried out, including assessments and certificates, are kept for six years to meet our legal, insurance and professional obligations. Financial records are kept for six years plus the current year, as required by HMRC.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to be informed about how we use your data, to request a copy of it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
